Description : Annual herbs, erect, usually unbranched. Leaves alternate, to 2 x 0.5 cm, elliptic, acute, glabrous, sessile. Flowers yellow, in terminal panicled cymes, sepals 5, 3 x 1.5 mm, ovate, acute; petals 2.5 x 1.5 mm, obovate, emarginate; stamens 5, filaments united at base into a short tube, anthers ovate; ovary 5-celled, depressed globose; ovule 1 in each cell; styles 5, free, 2 mm long. Fruit a dehiscent capsule, 3 mm across, depressed globose, glabrous; seeds many, 1 x 0.5 mm, biconvex.
