Description | : | Scandent herbs; stem terete, villous. Leaves to 6 x 2 cm, lanceolate, acute, rounded at base, crenulate, densely glandular villous. Spike 7 x 1 cm, cylindrical, terminal; bracts ovate, bracteoles lanceolate. Flowers many, densely packed; calyx 1.5 mm long; lobes 5, equal; corolla 3 mm long; lobes 4, equal, obtuse, hairy; stamens 4, filaments bearded, anthers 1-celled; ovary glabrous, style slender, stigma 2-lobed. Nutlets glabrous, smooth, brown. |

Leaves are used in fever.
