Description : Tree with few aerial roots. Bark dark gray. Leaves elliptic, ovate, 6-12 × 4-6 cm, glabrous or sparsely pubescent, base cuneate, margin entire, apex mucronate to acuminate, lateral veins 4-7 on either side of midvein, conspicuous on both surfaces, petiole 1-2 cm, stipules lanceolate, ca. 1 cm, glabrous. Figs axillary on leafless and leafy branchlets, solitary, paired, or in clusters of 3-4 on leafless older branchlets, globose, sessile or subsessile with short peduncle, involucral bracts caducous. Male, gall, and female flowers within same fig. Male flowers few near apical pore calyx lobes 2, lanceolate. Gall flowers similar to female flowers, style linear. Female flowers ovary obliquely ovoid, style lateral, stigma rounded. Achene ovoid. Syconus fruit.

Medicinal Use / Activity : A decoction of the bark is used as an injection in the treatment of Leucorrhoea. Applied externally, a bark decoction is used as a wash on ulcers and as a gargle in salivation.
